Watch D.O.G.S
THIS PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY ON HOLD UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!
The Watch D.O.G.S. Program allows dads to help out in their child’s classroom, on the playground, in the lunchroom, gym, art class, etc. for a HALF day. Many of our dads choose a date on or near their child’s birthday, or you may choose any HALF day that works with your schedule.
If you choose the AM, you will start with your child first thing in the morning at 8:45am when school begins and end with lunch. If you choose the PM, you will start with lunch and finish up helping for the afternoon until school ends at 3:45pm. Rules: One Watch D.O.G. per family per year. (If you have more than one child your day will be split to have time with each of them) You must have a current “background check form” on file with the office. You must sign up at least 2 days in advance to be a Watch D.O.G. & follow the schedule you are given. A sign up calendar is kept in the office. You may call 868-6113 or email (Crystal) [email protected] to reserve your date. |
Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is an innovative father involvement, educational initiative of the National Center for Fathering, that is implemented in schools all around the country. Watch D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, uncles and other father figures who volunteer at least one day each year. The 2 primary goals of the program are to:
1. Provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
2. Provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
